The Dyeing Tabard is another overpiece in the Layercake line-up. It creates an equally effective yet strikingly different silhouette to the Knitting Smock, as the points of the bottom hem are at the front and back rather than the sides. This has gone down particularly well with legging-wearers who prefer the front and back of their garments to be slightly longer but love the shorter sides. The Dyeing Tabard also looks great with our Bohemia petticoats.
NOTE: following customer feedback, we now have a size 3 petite available. In the picture showing 2 Tabards, you can see that the size 3 petite is shorter than the regular size 3. The 3 petite is shorter throughout, ideally shaped to accommodate shorter frames. As a rule of thumb, if you are a size 3 then order the 3 petite if you are 5'4" or less.
Following two winters of successful limited edition wool Tabards, we will be repeating this exercise every year, we try to have them ready to appear on the website (and at the shows) from October onwards. Please sign up for the newsletter (at the bottom of the homepage) if you would like to be kept informed of any Layercake news.
ABOUT OUT OF STOCKS: if a certain fabric/size shows as out of stock but the website allows you to place an order for it, it means we DO have more fabric, the garment just needs to be made for you, so if you place an order for an out of stock item, please allow 7-10 days for delivery.
In terms of sizing, they are the same as the Smocks. Here is a guideline for their fit; keep in mind that the bust measurement of the garment is 2 inches bigger than the recommended maximum bust size:
Size 0: bust up to 90 cm (36 in)
Size 1: bust up to 102 cm (41 in)
Size 2: bust up to 122 cm (48 in)
Size 3: bust up to 137 cm (54 in)
