I don’t know whether this is an existing lace stitch. It was inspired by a picture of a scarf I saw at ABC Carpets, a very inspirational store in NYC.
I knew it would translate well into a pattern for Soliloquy.
The pattern was written for use with Soliloquy Sock Lace. You need 100 grams only. If you substitute yarn, it will work best if that yarn yields a good stitch definition, so the eyelet clusters are well-defined.
This pattern contains both written instructions and a chart for the lace.
The shawl is knitted on a 3.25 mm circular needle (60 cm long) but straight needles are fine too.
The shawl measures 38 x 150 cm but can easily be made bigger or smaller. Of course you will need more yarn if you want a bigger shawl!
The shawl in the picture is knit with Soliloquy MerinoSilk in Biosphere.
