by: Tall Yarns
This may look like a normal sock, but making it is far from standard, in more ways than one!
They are completely knitted on 2 needles, so no knitting in the round.
They are knitted with 2 colours, creating a subtle shadow effect, like in the example in the picture, but very different effects can be achieved, depending on the colours of the yarn used. They are knitted (from the cuff down) in spiralling strips, with a Dutch heel and short-rowing for
the toes. They can be knitted both with and without a cuff, as shown in the picture. Because of the shape of the stitch pattern used, they
stay up fairly well without a cuff.
Measurements: The number of stitches used is suitable to knit socks of sizes 3-4 and up
Materials: Tall Yarns Cashmere Sock Yarn or Natural Dye Studio Angel Sock Yarn
Metreage: Approx. 400 m (1 hank of sock yarn)
Tension: 10x10 cm = 32 sts x 44 rows in stocking stitch
Notions: 2.25 mm straight needles
