Three frills, five designs, eight patterns.

The first picture shows a scarf consisting of 3 strands, showing three of the five designs. However, it is very easy (and pretty)to knit a scarf in one of the patterns only. The choice is yours.

Each of the eight patterns is perfect to show off a particularly precious or intricately coloured yarn, like the Koigu yarns shown in the first picture. However, any 4-ply or sock yarn can be used, and if you adapt the size of the needles, then any thickness of yarn can be used. Just keep in mind: the thicker the yarn, the more bulky the resulting scarf. And of course the opposite is true as well.

Difficulty: Easy

Sizes: vary, depending on the type and amount of yarn used. As a guide, 100 gr. of 4-ply makes a scarf of approx. 1.5 m (5 ft) in length.

Materials: To knit any of the 3 designs separately: 100 gr. 4-ply or sock yarn. To knit the 3-stranded confection shown in the picture: 200 gr. 4-ply (yarn used Koigu PPPM: 3 x 50 gr hank + 1 x 50 gr hank of Koigu PM, semi-solid)

Tension: is not critical but as an indication, the scarf in the picture = 24 sts and 36 rows measure 10 x 10 cm in Stocking Stitch

Notions: one pair of 3.25 mm needles (or bigger or smaller depending on the yarn you use) and a darning needle to sew in ends
